Spring has well and truly sprung. And with a change of season comes a switch-up of beauty products. I’m leaving behind the thick, rich moisturisers—staples of the cooler months—and leaning into golden serums, light fragrances and refreshing face mists. To me, they spell summer days ahead. Here’s my favourite beauty products—some new, some classics—that I’m loving for this time of year.
Estée Lauder Private Collection Legacy Eau de Parfum Spray, 100ml, $485 SHOP NOW
In September, Estée Lauder released The Legacy Collection, a Frédéric Malle reimagining of five of the brand’s iconic perfumes. My favourite for the springtime is Private Collection, a strong, contemporary signature with a floral symphony of green notes; basil, tarragon, galbanum. This is balanced with base notes of sandalwood and patchouli. I’ve been asked a number of times what I’m wearing with this on. The five perfumes are also sold together as travel-sized minis which is great for small swing bags and aeroplanes.
Celine YOGA MAT IN CORK WITH TRIOMPHE ALL-OVER PRINT, $1650 SHOP NOW
I’ve been practicing Pilates for years. So, when Celine announced it was selling a Pilates reformer range, I gasped. Finally! Luxury houses are cottoning onto the one thing we’ve all loved for years! While the reformer bed is a little out of my budget, I’m eyeing this yoga mat for a post-class stretch at home or at the beach come summer. How special.
Augustinus Bader The Face Mist, 100ml, $147 SHOP NOW
I’m always looking for nice things to make my desk more calming and comforting. It might be nice stationary, a beautiful candle or, lately, a luxury face mist. I’ve tried many face mists but this one is, by far, the best. The ultra-hydrating formula can be applied to clean skin as a toner, or on top of makeup to refresh your complexion during the day. It really helps to retain the skin’s moisture, and is a must as the weather warms up.
Merit Great Skin Instant Glow Serum, $61 SHOP NOW
This serum is super lightweight which means I can wear it during the day—and leave those heavier ones for night time. Its weightless formula absorbs quickly into my skin leaving me looking like I had a really great sleep. (The reality is, I probably didn’t.) Brightening, hydrating and plumping, it gives a beautiful golden glow—and has the all important Niacinamide in it to help keep your skin’s texture even and smooth. I’m so happy this brand is finally available in Australia!
Robe Lengthening Shampoo, $60 SHOP NOW
I was really drawn to this brand because of its origin story. Lauren Mackellar is one of Australia’s leading hairstylists. In 2020, she was diagnosed with cancer and her treatment would likely cause her to lose her hair. Although doctors cautioned her that there was a high chance her hair would never grow back, Lauren religiously relied on her newly-formulated products, Robe. Taking inspiration from Ayurvedic philosophies and Chinese medicine, Lauren kept using her products and her hair did grow back. Her haircare range is excellent. I’m using Robe’s Lengthening Shampoo + Conditioner and Leave In Treatment at the moment. Growth promoting and shed-reducing, my hair feels as though its in better condition after only a month of use.
Dr. Jart Cicapair Intensive Soothing Repair Serum Sheet Mask 5 Pack, $66 SHOP NOW
I was introduced to Dr. Jart a few months ago by way of 15 face masks arriving in the post. One evening, while writing a feature, I applied one of the sheet masks. Twenty minutes later, my skin was visibly calmer and hydrated. It’s not a usual thing to see instant results – and they did last well into the following day and evening. Infused with face serum that contains Cica Complex (Centella Asiatica Extracts) and Allantoin, this dermatologist-tested cooling cellulose sheet mask can reduce redness and increase brightness in minutes flat. I love this product.
OSEA Vagus Nerve pillow mist, $63 SHOP NOW
In the 1920s, the grandmother of the mother-and-daughter duo who founded OSEA injured herself and became bedridden. She believed in the healing powers of the ocean and, after swimming daily for a matter of months, she was healed. I loved this little story and, it turns out, Victoria Beckham is a fan of it, too. (She loves the brand’s Algae Body Oil.) For me, my bedtime ritual now includes spraying this mist onto my pillows and linens. With chamomile, juniper berry, lavender, lemon tea tree and Moroccan rosemary, I think it melts away stresses and helps me sleep. I also like to travel with it.
Milk Makeup Lip and cheek Blush, shade werk, $42 SHOP NOW
No matter the season, I’ve been using this year-round for years. A creamy, hydrating cream blush that sits atop your foundation while giving a beautiful rouge to the cheekbone, I’m obsessed. I personally find the formula a little too dry for a lip tint, but each to their own.
Vanessa Megan NEO (Nature’s Elixir Oil) 12 Hour Miracle Oil, 30ml, $90 SHOP NOW
This 12-hour miracle oil is one of my new favourites. In times of stress, I experience redness and uneven skin texture, and this product has helped a lot. Vitamins A, E, P, K, zinc and omega-3-6-9 work like a multi-vitamin shot to the skin to deeply nourish, replenish, restore and promote healthy skin cell growth. Its scent is so calming as well, you will love it morning and night. My skin soaks it up!
