What time do they announce the winning numbers for Mega Million? ›

Mega Millions^® drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 pm ET. Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; one gold Mega Ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25.

Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) - or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.

After no one matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball in the Friday, May 3 drawing, the grand prize climbed to $306 million for Tuesday, May 7. The winning numbers for Mega Millions on Tuesday were 26-28-36-63-66 and the Mega Ball was 15. Megaplier was 3x.

There was no jackpot winner in California for this draw.

The odds of getting three correct numbers are a bit better at 606 to 1, but you still take home $10.

In particular, pick random numbers. If you pick your favorite number or the day of your birthday like the 7th, which is the day of the next drawing, many people can be doing the same and that puts a lot of numbers between 1 and 31. Picking your own numbers doesn't change the odds of winning.
